The designer was born in Barcelona (Spain) in 1963 and in her twenties she was designing for prestigious firms in Biarritz, Paris, Barcelona and Madrid. Simultaneously with her studies in Japanese culture and language, she did professional training in Arts.

In 1989 she moves to Tokyo (Japan) for 4 years and starts doing design works for the Japanese market: at this creative moment, the Gaudí, Cisne and Pitágoras leather bags collections.In 1991, she designed the interior decoration of Japanese restaurant Je&Hid in Ginza (Tokyo) and some promotional posters for theatre plays in Japan. One year later she produced the promotional material for the Feria Internacional de Valencia in Tokyo together with the well known Spanish designer Javier Mariscal.

Back to Spain in 1993, with residence in Madrid she starts the production of leather bags under her own brand NITA SURI in partnership with the Spanish factory Hispania S.L. located in Ubrique (Cádiz). More than 6 collections per year with 6 to 10 different pieces each were launched every year, with destination to Japan as the main market, but also to the US and Europe. Japan was the main market and the brand could be found in the most prestigious department stores in Tokyo: TAKASHIMAYA, SEIBU and MITSUKOSHI. The originality and uniqueness of its designs were highly appreciated by the Japanese media, both in press and TV. In Spain, 3 bags outlets were having NITA SURI brand among its regular products. The company turnover in 1993-1996 reached 1 million US dollars per year.

In 1998, NITA SURI opened its first retail outlet in Calle Londres, and hired 3 staff in its office at the Villa Olímpica in Barcelona. During these years, the company also signed two relevant design and development contracts with the companies LLADRÓ and REVLON Barcelona for the production of leather bag collections. Also in these years, the designer started the design and production of lighting and furniture under her own brand.

Her last destination, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) started in 2004. In this city, the designer and her partner Abdul Kareem opened a design Studio in Mont Kiara for the research and development in BATIK techniques, together with a design academy. At the same time, she made her first two collections in BATIK fabrics and garments for the firm KHADANI with a presence in the Kuala Lumpur fashion shows. She also collaborated for other Malaysian firms, Je t´aime and Who is next, for the design of fashion collections in textile and Batik for the European markets.
